Krakatoa is the name of the volcano island in Indonesia which in 1883 erupted causing
one of the biggest natural disaster in recent history. The island was almost completely
destroyed during the explosions.
Today on its place another volcanic island can be found, Anak Krakatau or the Child of Krakatoa. The site is
found in Sunda Strait, between the Indonesian islands Java and Sumatra, bordering the Pacific Ocean. It belong
to the Pacific Ring of Fire.
